Managed corporate operational and investment budgets in IT area. Oversaw a 3-3.5million dollars annual budget supporting 250-350 end-users in a geographicallydistributed environment. Designed metrics systems for the IT function aroundISO 9001-2000 requirements. Designed and implemented a 50% downsizing process during 2001-2002, and led an infrastructure renovationcycle which included a general upgrdae to Windows 2003 server and Exchange2003, the design, procurement and installation of a SAN, (Storage AreaNetwork), and an upgrade to SAP 4.7.

Oversaw theimplemention of new technical infrastructure support organization as designedduring SAP R/3 project, including all operational processes and procedures anda change management system assisted by Remedy ARS. Controlled operational andinvestment budget of 1.5-2.5 million dollars annually. Covered SAP basisoperation, data center operation, conventional PBX phone system operation, LAN,MAN and WAN network and security infrastructure operation and end user and help desk support.

Elaborated the technical planning and budget, and managed the implementation of 18 month 3.5million dollar SAP R/3 "big-bang" project on time and within budget.Had 60 people reporting directly to me between internal analysts, internalusers, contracted consultants and operational infrastructure engineers. Projectwas presented in SAPPHIRE 97 as a successful example of a mid-size businessbig-bang implementation. Also co-led a business change management process toprepare the organization for operation with SAP R/3.Designed for approval by CIO new IT organization to take over after ending SAPproject. Implemented fully the following SAP modules: FI/CO, MM, PP-PI, SD, TR,AM, PS, (partial), QM and WM.

Executed continuous information technology surveys for practical applications inbusiness and IT infrastructure areas of the company. Created the PMO, (ProjectManaement Office), and developed the methodology for internal projectevaluation, justification, planning and control. Supervised a team ofspecialists in hardware, software, telecommunicationsand business application areas. In 1995 did large-scale survey of newclient-server integrated ERP systems that led to the technical rec­om­men­da­tionto implement SAP R/3, abandoning the mainframe/minicomputer architecture thathad endured until that time in the enterprise.
