I continued as the Materials Management consultant on the project to support Toyota with the parts department as the second phase of the project strategy.

In addition to this, I continued to support the whole business with regards to change requests and problem resolution.

My support role covered Sales and Distribution and Materials Management.

I specified and designed an interface between SAP and a Japanese Warehouse Management system. This included the goods receipt, movement of stock and distribution and sale. The project is live and all is working accordingly.

 

I joined the Toyota Tsusho SAP Dealer Management Project as the Materials Management resource.

The project went live with SAP DBM 5.0 with Kenya as the first dealer

We are currently busy upgrading to Dealer Management 6.0 on an ECC6 platform.

The project is due to go live on the 1st September 2008.

I joined the project as Materials Management team lead and is currently busy with the implementation of the Parts Division related business processes for production.

The company is a very diverse business entity with very many different business processes, all aligned to service the automotive industry. The main areas of focus are: vehicle exports to African countries, the export and distribution of parts, sustaining of production support for parts and cut sheet metal to Toyota S.A Manufacturing in Durban.

Of note to mention was the use of SAP Vehicle Management System to manage and control the purchase and sale of all foreign and local vehicles purchased and exported to African countries. Variant configuration was used for model selection and pricing for purchasing and sales.

On the parts distribution side, I was responsible for the design, testing and implementation of a customised order to delivery solution, this included shipping notifications, handling unit management and development of material master data management solution.

The whole solution covered the purchasing, receipt in handling units and sales process in handling units up to sales billing.

For the provision of parts and cut sheet metal to Toyota S.A Manufacturing in Durban various different procurement and sales processes were configured.

The first phase, excluding parts business when live 1st September 2004. The Parts business is due to go live in  May 2005.

I started late in the project when replacing existing MM consultants.

I completed the following activities:

 

i.      Development of generic business flows to gain a high-level understanding of the business processes required for configuration requirements.

ii.      Completed the framework of the Process Selection Matrix based on the Scenarios and Processes for the MM module according to the SAP R/3 Analyser Process Selection Matrix.

iii.      The IMG Configuration Worksheets, which was a download from SAP, was completed while working through SAP Help.

iv.      The SAP R/3 Analyser Scenarios was reviewed and any General Motors specific information documented.  This included where the General Motors processes were different, any specific requirements and user expectations and any other relevant points that come up during the workshops.

v.      The Scenario/Process Worksheet was used as a checklist to ensure that all the information has been gathered.  Special attention was given to Data Conversions, Interfaces, Enhancements, Reports and Forms Requirements related to each Scenario.

vi.      Developed data conversions rules for vendors, material masters, RFQ’s, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts and schedule agreements from SAP R/2 Release 5.0 F and other legacy systems to SAP R/3 release 3.1H                                     

vii.      System configuration for Procurement MM-PUR in SAP R/3 release 3.1H and the upgrade to rel 4.0B in terms of the requirements gathered during the business blueprint phase.

viii.      Development of detail business flows in Visio Rel 5.0 to indicate responsibilities and actions with respect to each business process.
