In this part of my contract I worked on migrating our existing systems to an integrated SAP Business One solution by designing and developing custom add-ons, and by modifying some of the core functionality of SAP to adjust the software to the idiosyncrasies of the marketing industry.

Carlson Marketing Group – Carlson specializes in Relationship Marketing by defining strategies to improve relationships between companies and their customers, employees and channel partners. In the role of Senior Web Developer I was responsible for maintaining existing web applications and for developing new ones for large customer accounts such as ScotiaBank and Pfizer. As a Systems Analyst I was responsible for determining the client problems, working out a feasible solution, producing and outlining the design of new systems to build. During my contract with Carlson I also chaired weekly seminars about the implications of migrating the development environment from ASP 3.0 to ASP.net. I worked on web application such as ScotiaApplause.com. On this site ScotiaBank employee log in to a centralized newsroom where they can find numerous applications to nominate other employees for outstanding performances. Employees could gain points by being nominated or by participating in games that were aimed at improving their banking knowledge. These points could be then redeemed against an online catalog. I worked on similar application for customers like Pfizer and Home Depot. One of my responsibility consisted in design, formatting and delivering financial statements, using Crystal Reports Version 8 and 9. These reports where for internal use only, available to employees through intranet.

Ontario Legislative Assembly (PC Research and Services) – Government office that provides (administrative and system) services to the Progressive Conservative members of the Provincial Parliament. In the role of team leader/senior software developer I have participated in the development of numerous applications, some of which were distributed across Ontario in over one hundred locations. I was involved with all the phases of development from design to deployment in accordance with end-client requirements, using standard software design practices. In the role of Team Leader I was accountable for successfully developing and implementing all systems, business processes and solutions for projects, including definition of scope, time management, quality assurance and risk. I was the intermediary between the client and the development team. In addition I have participated in the design and development of a CRM (customer relationship management) system initially developed in Microsoft Access and later re-developed in ASP.Net, SQL Server 2000. In this system we used Crystal Reports 9 extensively to create customer’s documentation available to all employees, and to generate summary reports from all the data gathered. In the development of the software was adopted a three-tier methodology and the business rules were implemented throughout extensive use of Transact-SQL in stored procedures and triggers.

At Seradex I worked as a team leader/senior software developer in a group of 8-10 developers, which created a manufacturing management system. D.M. Industries – D.M. Industries was a manufacturing company specialized in the production of rubber products and in the production of shoe components. Developed several applications such as “Recipe systems” designed for keeping track of the different (rubber) recipes and the physical properties of the resulting compound. In addition I developed Access-Excel solutions to resolve employees’ everyday needs.

Italian Air Force Base of Centocelle – Administrative head quarter of the Italian Air force division responsible of the air defense for the central part of Italy. My area of responsibility included the development of part of the software used for payroll. The software utilized magnetic card reader or manual entry to record attendance history. The system calculated the payroll on a periodic basis including all earnings, statutory deductions and employee benefits for the relevant pay period.

3rd University of Rome (Geology Department) - I worked as a software developer and I have created administrative applications such as:

-          Student Registration System. Developed software that enabled the university administration to track enrolments, tuitions, grades and attendance for the student body.  The program also tracked an individual student’s progress by test and quiz marks to calculate a semester average grade.

-          Research Data Bank In this application, professors were able to enter details into a data bank of research projects, their hypothesis, and the descriptions and test results.

-          Other. Developed various databases and templates customized to meet specific departmental requirements as requested by staff and faculty.  I also supported users including staff and faculty providing training and customized upgrades to existing databases.

Italian Air Force Base of ‘Pratica di Mare’ – This Air force department is responsible for the research and development in the field of aviation. Worked as a part of a team who developed an Inventory Control System. Created a program to track inventory of parts for aircraft at multiple sites with the data and reports being created at headquarters. The program utilized bar code scanning to record transactions and periodic inventory counts. This enabled the mechanics and technicians to update the database automatically by scanning the items as they were consumed. The system tracks usage and compares quantity on hand to re-establish reorder levels, to create automatic purchase orders through fax and telegram direct to suppliers.
